Sultan Salim Al Saabri
Group Chief Human Capital Officer
Sultan Salim Al Saabri is the Group Chief Human Capital Officer at Bee’ah, overseeing all aspects of human resource management, policies, practices and operations. With more than two decades of experience in senior business leadership and day-to-day management, he has been responsible for recruiting, developing and ensuring the professional growth of some of the UAE’s best talent. Sultan has developed and executed human resource strategies in support of the ambitious business plan and strategic direction of Bee’ah. He is specialised in Emiratisation, talent management, succession planning, change management, organisational and performance management, and transformation of Human Capital systems.
Formerly, Sultan was the Senior Director for Emiratisation, and Business Partner at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA). While at EGA, he played a key role in successfully facilitating the restructuring of the company in line with shareholder feedback and BOD strategy. Sultan managed all HR functions for the business units of DUBAL prior to the merger, and played a key role in the integration of EMAL, Guinea Alumina Corp and Taweela Alumina refinery. He established the Human Capital Business Partner model, and played a crucial role in the creation of a unified pay system, grading/titling, re-writing policies and procedures to integrate all companies under the umbrella of EGA.
Before joining EGA, Sultan was the Vice President of Human Resources & Organisational Effectiveness at Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL), where he managed a comprehensive team and executed all HR activities including talent management, career development, employee relations and others, through problem-solving, strategy designing and diligent leadership. During his tenure, he was also a member of the DUBAL Executive Management Committee, and Enterprise Risk Management Committee, in addition to being a member of the Human Resource Board for EMAL.
Prior to assuming this role, Sultan had worked at DUBAL for over 28 years, honing his skills and rising through the ranks of leadership. Starting his career as an Industrial Engineer at the company, he conducted numerous feasibility studies and capital expenditure evaluations in order to suggest productivity improvements in the aluminium smelting industry. He was then appointed the Head of Manpower Planning & Recruitment.
Sultan’s extensive experience also extends to managerial roles in marketing and sales, overseeing DUBAL’s sales operations in Asia, Europe and North America. During this period, he executed a number of key projects including increasing the market share of EMAL in European & North American markets, and managing 60% of DUBAL’s sales volume in the Asian & North American markets. He has worked with global customers to conduct sales in excess of 500,000MT/year, valued at US$ 1.25 billion. Sultan was responsible for identifying and developing a long-term customer base for the organisation, and maximised sales earning through market awareness and improvement of customer service.
Sultan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from the University of Central Florida. He has also received multiple certifications in leadership, marketing, management and developmental skills from the leading European business school, International Institute for Management Development (IMD), in Switzerland.
